Michellar's "Get me there to Church" is a poignant and immersive sonic experience that shelters the essence of a relationship.

Michellar has put tons of sweat and hours into his debut release “Get me there to Church” and it shows. A resonating journey of music made with the emotions of love- this is a story of the voyage of a relationship. Coming straight from the heart, this song covers the feelings of longing and yearning.
We got a chance to interview Michelle for this song, and we found a lot of unspoken tales!
Let's get started:
What inspired you to have such a unique recording process for this track?
My inspiration for this recording process is having a real global connection. Tobias Wilson is such a good collaborator that I found to be so easy to work with. He brings life to my songs and with that energy between us…we both bring that love for music to our songs. I believe that cohesiveness transmits to the songs we work on.
How did you get into the art of making music?
I got into the art of making music when I discovered how much I enjoyed writing lyrics and melodies at 15. It gave me so much pleasure that I kept doing it with a friend from high school. All my free time from high school went into that activity.
What do you feel while creating your tracks?
What does your creative process look like? I feel free from all that surrounds me when I create these tracks. Free to be playful, serious, sad, curious, and angry… all at the time of each creation. The emotions are very close and as I write my lyrics down… I feel the emotive atmosphere around the music and that compels me to write the lyrics to it.
Why the title ‘Get me there to church’? Is there a story behind it, and what?
The title is “ Get me there to Church” because I always felt that some people just need a nudge to get things going. They already know what they want …. But just needs a little push to get it into action. All the guessing and thinking puts a halt in decision-making… why not just do it already? “Get me there to church” is just another story within that mentality.
What drives you to create music every day? We feel every artist has that one thing that inspires them.
The drive is the addiction to create more. I am addicted to making something, beautiful or meaningful and when I do …I get high. The high is the drive …that's the motivation to create.
Who are the artists that make you feel like the music industry is worth being a part of?
There really are so many artists to name…. Carole King, Bread, The Police, Andrew Lloyd Weber, and Led Zeppelin are all big influences and make it worthwhile to be part of the music industry.
What impact do you intend to make with this release?
I hope to make a big impact with this release and to open the conversation for all those people who doubt their feelings and thoughts about what action they should take. If it feels right from the very start … do it! Life is too short!
What was the main influence you had when you started this journey?
The main influence is my mother. She always believed that whatever I set my mind on, I can make something really grand out of it. At a very early age… she believed I could go somewhere with my ART …. and today, she lives through all of my challenges and triumphs. I hope to make her proud.
