The House Flies return with “Sweet Foxhound.”

The House Flies are a Midwest gothic post-punk band who have made a name for themselves with their dark and eerie textures.
The House Flies

The House Flies have merged haunting melody and menace with "Sweet Foxhound," as they have with their other songs. Their new single, "Sweet Foxhound", features a nice interplay of their signature groovy and melodic style with their usual outburst of energy. The album "Mannequin Deposit" was their last release, so with this single, the band is signaling their return to making music.

"Sweet Foxhound" destructively hits your senses, but also in a very fragile and charming manner at the same time.

The song, from the very beginning, has a very tense atmosphere. The multiple guitar parts intertwine with a heavy bass line and steady drums, forming a sonic landscape altogether. The lyrics come faintly as if a ghost, giving the thick composition an additional layer of emotional depth.

The major factor that puts this record at the top distinction is the participation of Burnie Eckardt, the guitarist, whose coming has not only cast a new light on the band’s sound but also strengthened it.
