ViperSnatch turns pain into pure power through “Sweet Melodies.”
ViperSnatch is a dynamic alt-rock three-piece out of Rockhampton, Australia, comprising Lily, Riley, and Kailee. Drawing inspiration from Riot Grrrl vibes, they combine Lana Del Rey-style vocals, tight punk riffs, and throbbing basslines to give lifetimes the stories they have hated, loved, and overcome. They have been recognized for their aggressive performance and straightforward songwriting since their band formation in 2018; thus, feminism is their most significant contribution to the regional rock scene. ViperSnatch creates songs that are sonically explosive, deeply heartfelt, and inescapable in existence.
The single “Sweet Melodies” serves as a powerful comeback for ViperSnatch—loud, emotional, and refreshingly real.
The tunes communicate with a whisper, spoken word intro character, rapidly followed by a very angry motion of punk and grunge with a very bold and gritty voice. Distorted guitars, heavy bass, and energetic drumming are the perfect elements to accompany Lily's rough, emotional vocals. The song is about the feeling of frustration as a result of repeated disappointment. So the song makes the transformation of heartbreak into release that is very easy to sing along with.
