“Rainbow Soul” – An anthem of unity, groove & hope.

"Rainbow Soul" spans decades with unbeatable grooves and eternal hope, combining unity, dignity, and commonality.

“Rainbow Soul” by Chris Oledude

Chris Oledude, or Chris Owens, is a singer and songwriter who hails from Puerto Rico. His connection with music and social activism is infused in all his musical phrases. Acquiring his training from his mother, who is part of an artistic family, he used to sing in sync with his brothers when he was young. His musical roots have been nourished with many forms of musical creativity, such as classical, folk, funk, pop, and protest songs. But after spending some time in musical bands and playing in the streets of 1980s New York as a busker, experiences with loss and reflection brought him back to his musical roots. Chris re-emerged in 2020 as Chris Oledude, fusing old-school forms of pop, funk, R&B, and blues with new-school musical excitement.

"Rainbow Soul" is in itself a blissful manifesto, a Luminous funk-gospel anthem.

“Rainbow Soul” by Chris Oledude

Oledude weaves together funk rhythms of pure uplift, gospel-inspired uplift, and spoken word rhetoric, assembling a fabric of intent to celebrate, to affirm. The chorus, in its welcoming refrain, is like a group hug, while flashing keys and flexing bass rhythms propel it forward. There is a theatrical dimension to it, but it itself possesses a closeness, a rooted integrity, in experience, in loving vision. This song, reborn in 1984, has taken up a lineage of survival, transforming a personal strength into a shared hope. If anything, Rainbow Soul works both as a call to arms-an invitation to embrace pride, to take action with love and mobilise toward a more human future-and as a dance. As the final notes disappear, the Rainbow Soul dissolves into a warm, soft light. The message reaches out from the song itself, reminding us that all the colours, all the stories, have a place in the same human narrative.
