“Hinn eini sanni Guð” - A gospel classic with Icelandic soul and heavenly warmth.

GIG is an Icelandic gospel band formed in 2002 when a group of friends, sharing the same faith and love for music, decided to make music together. The members Guðni Gunnarsson, Daney Haraldsdóttir, and Emil Hreiðar Björnsson, who, apart from making music, also live their faith in a modern way through their community. They want and aim to spread through their songs the faith, the hope, and the love of God, which works as a binding factor between different languages and cultures and is even capable of reaching those who suffer from the plague of loneliness.
“The One True God” (“Hinn eini sanni Guð”) is GIG’s emotionally charged, artistic Icelandic reinterpretation of a gospel timeless classic.

Faith is the first thing that comes to mind when one hears the music of GIG. The band perfectly demonstrates this idea. The single combines lucid guitar sounds and heartfelt vocals. It manages to be both compact and soaring in its reach — a quiet and intimate worship experience that eventually inflates to an awe-inspiring one. GIG decides to focus on one thing, the emotional truth, instead of following trends, thus giving the listener a sound that can be touched and yet is common to all human beings.
