First‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Descent (Glimpse) - Where silence speaks in shadows.

Cole Blouin's "First Descent" is a poetic float through his terrifyingly attractive sonic abyss.
Cole Blouin

The New York-based sonic artist and producer Cole Blouin effortlessly blends post-rock, ambient, and avant-garde electronic sounds to create textured, immersive soundscapes. Blouin's releases, which are recognised by Obscure Sound and Bandcamp as boundary-pushing, are at the same time intellectual and emotional. In First Descent (Glimpse), they captivate the audience with a hypnotic, atmospheric descent, ultimately dissolving the border between dream and reality.

First Descent (Glimpse) is the experience of entering a dream in which one is aware of the distortions and silences simultaneously.

Cole Blouin

Cole Blouin builds a sound world that is drone-heavy on the lower side, has a large screen feel, and is haunted by the fading of the guitar. The music goes up and down with emotional power, with an amazing work of art, with its slow and careful unravelling of sound into silence, tells the story of the fall of the great and the mighty through the ambient intensity. Every single sound is as if the artist has taken the listener's breath and caught it between wakefulness and the vanishing of memory. There is no race; there is only the slow revelation when texture is the language of feeling. First Descent is not only a hearing feat; it is also a feeling experience — the beautiful decay of sound into silence.
