"Template" is a dark, driving collision of post-punk energy, electronic atmospherics, and alien questions of self-identity.

Fading Signals is an alternative rock band based in Portland, Oregon that combines the pure chemistry of a five-piece band with the dense atmospheres of dark electronic music. The band, comprised of five old friends with diverse ages and histories, features a vocalist/lyricist, guitarist, keyboardist, bass player, and drummer, as well as a host of synthesizers, drum machines, and computers. The band is inspired by such acts as Joy Division, New Order, Depeche Mode, Skinny Puppy and Stevie Nicks, and ultimately exists in the space between several genres, balancing darkness with hope, looking inward and going ahead.
"Template" is a dynamic examination of identity in our increasingly technology-driven world, transforming a disturbing question into a brooding atmospheric alternative rock experience.

The song immediately grips the listener with its hard-hitting post-punk bassline, which pulses restlessly under shimmering guitars, haunting keys, and shimuevablenbeliunbelieveable.
Seven-minute length, perfect balance between vulnerability and urgency, and the use of electronic textures to conceive of an arena of physicality are the band's greatest contributions to AlternaRoxusic. "Template" sounds intimate without being passive or unimaginative, leading to reflection on the limits of the individual within technology.
