A fearless anthem that turns life's setbacks into fuel for empowerment.

Exzenya, an emerging indie singer and the founder of Exzenya Productions, is rapidly gaining recognition within the pop and rock music world through songs heavily influenced by her life experiences and emotional openness. Living in the United States, she is revitalising the music industry by combining behavioural psychology with emotional storytelling. Her songs not only verbalise but also demonstrate the ways to rise above life's challenges, embrace change and take control of one's life. Exzenya started her music career after her twenties. She breaks the age stereotype of the music business to show that artistic creativity is limitless.
"That's the Story of My Life" is the release of a loud, deeply emotional pop-rock anthem that not only conquers the power of the sound but also the aspect of personal truth.

The atmospherics created by the song from its very first second attract the listener in; astral piano tones lead to powerful guitars and energetic percussion. The production is the mirror metaphor of the song's main theme, the unpredictable highs and lows of human experiences, which is illustrated through the shift of tempo and dynamic layering.
The single is topped, however, largely by the vocal prowess of Exzenya, who sings the lead. She manages to portray her self-reflective, delicate side in the verses while her explosive, chant-worthy chorus, which is perfect for singing out loud, feels like which is her rally of fans. Her chanting of the phrase "don't you know? " as if it were a mantra is very effective and very much contributes to the overall message of the song, which is to gain self-awareness through hardships.
Being the final wave of her concept album, the track has a sense of direction and release. It isnt simply a song, it is a declaration of ownership, strength, and unreserved change.
We had the chance to talk to Exzenya, and this is how it went: 1. What made you change the line Thats the story of my life into a powerful self-empowerment song?
That phrase usually gets said with sarcasm, frustration, or disbelief. And I kept all of that in it. I didn’t turn it into something sweet or polished.
My life moves fast. A lot happens. Absurd things stack on top of each other. Wins, losses, recognition, lack of recognition — it all piles up. And instead of treating that phrase like surrender, I treated it like ownership.
It’s not defeat. It’s acknowledgment.
That’s the story. All of it. The good, the embarrassing, the strong, the weak. And I’m still moving forward inside it. That’s where the power is.
2. In what ways has your expertise in behavioural science helped you to convey the emotions of the song to a great extent?
Behavioral science trains you to look at patterns — not just events.
Most people describe what happened. I’m more interested in why it felt the way it did. What belief was underneath it? What reaction pattern showed up? Was it fear? Ego? Shame? Pride? Conditioning?
When I write, I’m not just telling a story. I’m dissecting the emotional mechanics of it. If someone feels defeated, there’s a reason. If someone feels powerful, there’s a buildup to that too.
3. Could you please explain the making of the song and how the changing tempos were conceived?
The making of this song took longer than most of my releases. Normally, once I write something and hear the music in my head, it moves quickly. This one didn’t. There were interruptions — health challenges, timing issues, transitions happening in my life. It kept getting delayed.
And honestly, that fit the theme.
Life doesn’t move at one steady tempo. Some seasons are heavy and reflective. Some are urgent. Some feel like you’re barely catching your breath. The tempo shifts reflect that internal movement.
It wasn’t random. The pacing follows the emotional arc — grounded in certain sections, driving in others. The structure mirrors what life feels like when it speeds up, slows down, knocks you sideways, and then pushes you forward again.
The production supports that rhythm instead of flattening it.
4. What does redefining the debut era mean to you personally at this point in your music career?
Redefining the debut era means not fitting into a prewritten script.
Most debut narratives are about youth, discovery, overnight momentum. That’s not my story. I didn’t walk into this industry at twenty. I walked into it with decades of experience — running businesses, navigating complex systems, raising a family, building things from the ground up.
So my debut isn’t about “finding myself.” It’s about applying everything I already am to music.
It means releasing music with intention. It means strategic growth instead of chasing trends. It means understanding risk because I’ve taken risks before — just in different arenas.
I’m not entering this space naïve. I’m entering it aware.
That changes what a debut looks like.
5. In what ways does That’s the Story of My Life showcase the changes in you as an artist from your Drunk Texting days?
Drunk Texting leans into satire. It captures a chaotic, impulsive moment and lets people laugh at themselves. It’s sharp, playful, and observational.
“That’s the Story of My Life” steps back and looks at the bigger arc. It’s not about one night or one mistake — it’s about patterns over time. It’s reflective without being sentimental.
Artistically, it shows more range. There’s more emotional layering, more integration of strength and vulnerability in the same breath. It’s less about reacting and more about evaluating.
Both songs examine human behavior. This one just widens the lens.
6. Which was the part that was most difficult for you, and also, most empowering, while working on this single?
The most difficult part was the timing. Everything around it was shifting — health, business, long-term decisions — and the song kept getting pushed back. It took almost twice as long as previous releases.
What was empowering wasn’t emotional or dramatic. It was simply staying with it. I don’t abandon something because it becomes inconvenient. If it matters, I keep working at it until it’s done.
That’s it.
No grand moment. No big breakthrough. Just steady movement through a complicated season.
7. What do you wish the audience to gain from your song on a personal level?
Perspective.
I want people to understand that the chaotic, embarrassing, painful, confusing chapters don’t define their entire existence. They’re part of it — not the whole of it.
You can feel defeated and still have value. You can make mistakes and still be evolving. You can be strong in one season and uncertain in another. That doesn’t cancel anything.
Life isn’t a clean narrative. It’s layered. And the layers matter.
If someone listens to this and feels a little less ashamed of their contradictions, a little less alone in their mess, and a little more grounded in the fact that they’re still moving — then it did what it needed to do.
8. What’s next for the fans to look forward to, in terms of releasing new music from Exzenya Productions and you?
There’s more coming.
I’m working on two concept albums at the same time. I hope to have Story of My Life fully completed in the coming months, and I hope Bar Scenes and Rumors will be completed later this year. Of course, timelines can shift — life doesn’t always move in straight lines — but that’s the direction I’m actively building toward.
Under Exzenya Productions, the focus is steady releases and intentional growth. There are more singles on the way, continued storytelling, and ongoing development of both projects.
This is an expanding catalog, not a one-off release.
