Even from the very first scream to the very last fading note, “Irish Goodbye” does not just introduce Deathsleep. It actually defines them.

Deathsleep is a band from Bend, US. They have debuted with their EP “Irish Goodbye”. In this EP, the band has presented a raw and emotion filled performance. It feels both emotionally relieving and also like a battle cry at the same time. The band, collectively channel their personal griefs, betrayals and rediscoveries into this EP. The traumas that band members have experienced can be found in “Irish Goodbye”.
The vocals have an emotional weight of someone who has suffered a lot. And the song "Moon Omens" perfectly shows this. This song is a mix of melodies and breakdowns. And the lyrics of this song speak about heartbreak and the search for closure. “Moon Omens” is really intense song. But that does not make it overwhelming to the listeners.

The guitar work also further enhances the music of “Irish Goodbye”. The production does not lose its clarity anywhere. It has a certain weight to it. But there is also a space present for emotion. And also there is a slight space for the listener to feel that emotion. The themes of departure, identity and rebirth are present in "Irish Goodbye". And these themes are truly evident in the title song, and the rest of the songs in the EP, too.
“This EP is a reflection of something deeply human.”
The recording process of "Irish Goodbye" was very spontaneous. This can be seen throughout the EP. The sense of urgency in this process resonates with the listeners the most. This is a kind of EP that does not hold back. Instead, it demands that you listen closely and feel deeply. It is not just music. It is a return from silence!
