"Crashing Out": Turning survival into sound through power and heart.

Chandra Edinburg, also known as CJ KanGuru, is a hip hop artist from Coachella Valley, California, and her music revolves mainly around the themes of resilience, authenticity, and emotional depth. Being a three-time cancer survivor and a loud LGBTQ+ advocate, who draws her artistic inspirations from Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, and Post Malone, she combines her frailty with her might. Apart from being a lyricist and a producer, she is also a visual artist, and this allows her to create a multidimensional artistic persona that goes beyond the usual norms of the hip hop genre.
"Crashing Out" is a bright and daring release that tells the story of the creative, fearless nature and the emotional confessional side of Chandra Edinburgh.
The seamless integration of the lyrical and musical parts is what makes the track so attractive. The very first thing that probably comes to mind is the battle fought within oneself. Chandra talks about these themes through her music, which are the struggles inside, the fight to survive, and finally, taking a stand. She uses rap form to communicate her words, which is quite melodic in her voice. The tune of the song, which is basically a record from her hometown, the Coachella Valley, is still very much indie, but it sounds very fresh and nice. "Crashing Out" is a one-of-a-kind work where she sets herself apart from the rest of the hip-hop artists not only by not following the trends but also by being able to create her own lane in modern hip-hop.
