"Dreaming Dog" is a 13-track album that melds genres and calms dogs, yet fascinates human listeners.

"Dreaming Dog" – the name of the album significantly defines what it is and who it will be all about. I was awestruck when I heard this album. Amman Ahmed, the founder of pet music brand RelaxMyDog, has evolved with the finest concept ever. Antaeus is not only a Grammy-winning artist but also a musician and composer; his music has profound use of instruments, frames, visuals, and emotions. Listening to his music feels like you're in his world.
He has released a new album, "Dreaming Dog," an instrumental album that combines neoclassical elements and creates a unique space. The album has textures, tones, and, most importantly, serenity. Each track defines the dog’s state of mind and has a unique way of expression with jazz, blues, and funk. You can see the different moods in each track; on one hand, it's curious and funky, while on the other, exciting and engaging.
This album is one of the best genre-defining, heartwarming releases. A 13-track album is no less than a celebration; the mastermind behind this, Amman, has helped millions of pets, but through this album, he made sure things go beyond, partnering with Antaeus and Daniel, a composer known for his deep notes and textures in the emotional world. It’s a genre-blending experience with electronic, lo-fi Amapiano, and subtle reggae. The music connects with both dogs and humans, and soothes without being boring, calms without dulling, and bridges the needs of animals with the aesthetics of electronica and new age composition.
"Dreaming Dog" is a sensory experience unlike any other—a soothing ritual that combines experiment, feeling, and music to ease the anxiety of animals and their owners.
Each track has been crafted using research-backed methods that cater specifically to dogs’ hearing and emotional triggers. Tempos of 50-70 bpm reduce the anxiety in dogs. Soft bass is used to comfort them without overwhelming them. Desensitization cues, such as fireworks and playground noise, are introduced slowly to help dogs adjust to everyday life. The frequency has been reduced for a gentle experience. They mentioned that “We designed the tracks to calm dogs, but we also wanted it to be something people would genuinely want to listen to, on repeat.”
Each and every track will flow in your head, and you will get in deep with the sound. The opener, “Back in Time,” has a soft flow of instruments and feels like the beginning of the story with strings. Followed by “Beautiful Dog,” it completely changes the mood from the previous one with airy vocals, and the drums in the background combine with melodies. Next comes “Casablanca,” which takes you in a different direction with a unique glow and sensitivity. “Brand New Home” is a breezy, airy track. “My Best Friend” is a groovy track with amazing instrumentals that feels breezy. Followed by “There for You,” a soft dance beat with piano chords, and “Peace in Chaos” brings things back into a calm place with each note with precision and utmost accuracy. Followed by “Mama Dog,” and “Chilling in Soweto,” which is built around the textures and feels a bit experimental, while “Dog Dreams” and “Euphoric Sleepy Time” are mellow and grounded, which is perfect to fall asleep to. My words will fall short for reviewing this album; this has touched my heart like anything, and I am sure you will also fall in love with the tracks altogether.
The key contributors, like Charu Suri, the Indian jazz pianist, Erini, a Greek vocalist, and Joe Maldonado, bring the polished low-end magic, and Alex Psaroudakis and Chris Sulit take care of mastering and mixing duties, ensuring every frequency is just right. The album wouldn’t have been possible without these amazing creators.
"Dreaming Dog" is more than just music for dogs or humans; it’s a soundtrack to slow down from the chaos of life and bring smoothness and calmness. Put this album on and lie along with your pup and enjoy the best of your life. You'll be surprised; it's a must-listen with or without your dog. Attaching the link below, just go for it.
