“Every book has a story, but sometimes the most interesting ones are hidden between the pages.” This is the idea that is at the heart of “Things Found in Books," the latest album from singer-songwriters Yvonne Lyon and Boo Hewerdine.

The inspiration for this album comes from Culzean Castle’s second-hand bookshop, where people pin old letters, postcards, and scraps of forgotten lives. These fragments of forgotten lives became the foundation for a collection of songs that feel as intimate as a conversation that one overhears in a quiet cafe. Released on March 7, 2025, this album is filled with heartfelt storytelling, wrapping mundane experiences in rich folk melodies.
“Lost words, found melodies—where forgotten stories find a new home!”

Hewerdine and Lyon have an incredible way of capturing nostalgia, longing, and quiet beauty in a way that feels both deeply personal and universal. Their songwriting is warm and unhurried. It feels like going through an old photo album and recognizing faces you have never met. Also, to match the album’s nostalgic feel, it is released as a hardback CD book, a beautiful keepsake for those who still love holding music in their hands.
