A soulful indie-rock love song with retro sparkle and effortless warmth.

Fiona Amaka is an artist with multi-faceted talents, namely, singing, songwriting, and guitar playing. Based out of London, she is known for her distinctive "rock 'n' soul" genre. Through her twisted bluesy vocals to indie-rock and folk, she brings her style to life by taking influences from Stevie Nicks and Smashing Pumpkins. In her 2025 releases "No Daylight" and "Cowards and Shadows," she sings of betrayal and resilience, whereas "Honesty (Psalm 139)" is a spiritual song. She is extensively performing across London with the Fiona Amaka Band, and yet, she is not done with creating her bold and soulful musical identity.
"Wingman" is an example of how simplicity can still be powerful, bold, and impactful.
“Wingman” is a heartfelt, indie-rock track with a retro vibe that beautifully combines charm, clarity, and soul. The single was made as a simple love song, but the producer and collaborator, David Taro, turned it into a full studio production. The guitars are bright, jangly, and echoing, and the drums give a steady and inviting feel to the track, which sounds like an 80s throwback. Fiona’s voice is smooth, emotive, and light, and she conveys feeling without exertion. The extra vocals complement and harmonise with the main line, and so, the song sounds deep and has repeat value.
