"Causing A Commotion" is an EP that captures the thrill of endless summer nights while paving the way for Kane’s bold double album, "Psychedelika."

The New Citizen Kane is continuing to make his space in the electronic and disco-soul realm. He has come up with a new recorded work, “Causing A Commotion,” which is marked by an EP and stands alone as a work of art, and his most ambitious plans are yet to come with the most-awaited double album, "Psychedelika." Causing a Commotion feels like a full-on experience from start to end, with 8 tracks involved, shimmering synths with disco-inspired grooves that keep you grooving over the track.
“Causing A Commotion” features synth textures, groovy disco-funk grooves, and mesmerising rhythms that will keep you hooked throughout.
The main attraction on the EP is “Subconscious,” a sultry disco-soul single that strikes both an intimate and universal chord. The song perfectly conveys the thrill, a mix of tension and dreaminess, with a confusion of unexpected attraction. Kane beautifully captured the feeling of being vulnerable with his signature warmth. It's creative, it's inviting, and the world is uniquely his.
What is unique and compelling about the single is that it comes with two separate radio mixes of the same single. These are the Reason Radio Mix, a more controlled, reasonable interpretation, and the Primordial Radio Mix, a more urgent and instinctual version. The dual approach reveals the contradictions of human emotion – it feels like our minds are telling us something, while our hearts pull us away.

The EP doesn't end there; it has more, like “San Diego,” a song that is gaining popularity as one of the streaming songs with synths that are lush and full of warmth, bringing a bittersweet haze that contrasts nicely with the otherwise upbeat energy. Next up is “Bubble Gum Hot,” which is tender yet playful, with bittersweet memories of a love that appeared and disappeared too fast to hold on to but made an impression.
Then there is another track, "Causing A Commotion," which appears as a daring EP exclusive, and two revisited and reimagined versions of early favorites "Hearts Aren't Made of Wood '25" and "Meet Me On Street Corners (Synthphonica Radio Mix)" that highlight Kane's more developed and experimental approach to music making.
It is a moment of joy for long-time loyal fans before stepping back into the newly expanded, experimental universe of "Psychedelika," but it is still inviting new fans into Kane's ever-changing sonic landscape. Causing A Commotion is a set of songs built for dancing, drinking in light, and refusing to brood. For anyone chasing that feeling of endless summer nights, this is worth a spin.
For The New Citizen Kane, "Causing A Commotion" is more than an EP; it's a declaration of intent. For anyone chasing that feeling of endless summer nights, this is worth a spin.
