Fons & the Chargers is a musical project from Utrecht, led by Fons Slieker, a trainee oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a deep passion for music and storytelling. Combining medicine, art, and family life, Fons draws his inspiration from the elegant '40s–'60s crooner jazz and big band Christmas traditions. His music is a fusion of vintage warmth with a personal and contemporary twist, Fons being influenced by the likes of Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra and his life with his wife, Leandra, and son, Guus.

"The Last Little Christmas Tree" is a beautifully warm, joyful Christmas tune that revolves around the themes of love, imperfection, and the invincible spirit in ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌silence.

"The Last Little Christmas Tree" by Fons & the Chargers

The story of a tree that had been left behind and had a broken branch is told in the song, and subsequently, it reads like a typical holiday storybook. The song is vintage crooner jazz and bluesy pop-based. Hence, it is a warm tribute to the Christmas recordings of the 1940s–60s; however, it sounds as if it was written freshly and is quite honest. The singing is fun, and the singers ' call to attention, and the accompanying music is both lively and subdued.
