A conscious lyricist with a universal theme and a contemporary sound.

Deepwise is an independent hip-hop artist out of Salt Lake City to Las Vegas, who creatively combines the lyricism of the golden era with the cloud-rap atmospherics. His music is a reflection of 90s influences of 2Pac, Biggie, and OutKast, but goes further to integrate jazz, funk, and electronic psychedelia into a genre-fluid style. Deepwise is a superb case of a perfect mix of substance and innovation with lyrical themes that investigate philosophy, self-actualization, and empowerment. The main reasons for Deepwise’s fanbase growing thus consistently are his high-spirited live shows and out-of-the-box artistic vision.
“Slow Down” features the dynamic, cinematic jazz piano accompanied by the atmospheric percussion right from the beginning of the track, which conveys the artist’s sonic world to the listener.

Deepwise's authoritative voice and philosophical approach are evident from the very first moments of the track when he makes sharp cultural references to Mufasa, Shaka Zulu, and Muhammad Ali. Deepwise incorporates spirituality, swagger, and storytelling into an amazing, hypnotic hip-hop alchemy. The record goes on to a silky hip-hop groove, with Deepwise as the poet laureate, musing on his own thoughts. Whenever the beat disappears, it is Deepwise's multi-layered vocals and socially-aware lyrics that dominate the scene.
