RIMENY finds his voice with “I Can’t Talk to My Friends.”

A heartfelt alt-pop track that turns miscommunication into a fearless, danceable celebration of growth.
RIMENY

RIMENY, the alt-pop character of the creator and music producer Zak Engel, has always been frank with his songs. This new single, "I Can't Talk to My Friends," is serving as an introduction to the EP World as Myth—he makes a daring move beyond his previous works and lands in the dance genre. This song's uniqueness lies in its combination of openness and rhythm. Engel admitted that he was scared of drum programming and rhythm, but this song is a creative impatience breakthrough.

"I Can't Talk to My Friends" is a simple yet powerful, danceable anthem that oozes with charm and self-assurance.

The single is both honest and cheerful. It delves lyrically into the misunderstanding theme of friendships, showing the characters getting a little annoyed, and the reader immediately identifies the scene with beat drops, guitar, and EDM accompaniments.

The mixture of Charli XCX, Prince, Lionel Richie, and Fred Again influences has been creatively used by RIMENY to come up with a sound that one cannot place chronologically, but which still holds some of the characteristics of his recent works. With the sensitive narrative of Engel as the centerpiece of “I Can’t Talk to My Friends”, it is not only a single but also a milestone, symbolizing the artist's bravado when it comes to his next musical voyage.
