A Band Creating Space for Emotions Using Reverb, Memory and Restraint.

"There’s Talk" is an electronic dream pop trio based in Oakland that develops immersive, emotionally tied soundscapes for listeners. This trio includes Olivia Lee as the multitalented frontwoman, along with Kellen Balla and Young Lee, works collaboratively by weaving lush layers of soft shoegaze guitar, saturated synths, and atmospheric production into a singular sonic tapestry. Much of the inspiration can be traced back to Lee’s early introduction to electronic music production, through personal death, through Chinese culture and through the LGBTQ experience. This balance of vulnerability and grandiosity allows for a meditative experience, while also evoking feelings of vastness and subtle changes in perspective within the listeners.
The version of Angel Olsen's "Unfucktheworld" that Talk has created showcases the way art often transforms from being traditional to becoming innovative.

The original core vocal melody remains intact in Talk's version as the musician, Olivia Lee, still maintains the same vocal melody, while Talk's trio offers an ethereal ambience of sound created by ethereal synths, dreamlike guitar melodies and wide open spaces in the production. With a subdued approach, Talk's Unfucktheworld has an honest intention through emotional experiences as opposed to dramatic changes. The soundscape of the song is enveloped in soft synthesis sounds mixed with shimmering strings, creating a space of contemplation as you listen.
