"Pole Position" by Mick J. Clark: A gentle cruise through emotion and melody.

Mick J. Clark has created an easy-listening experience that draws on elements of honesty and traditional songwriting.

Mick J. Clark is a very productive singer-songwriter whose career exemplifies a perfect balance of consistent releases, infectious melodies, and a very heart-touching storytelling. Warner/Chappell Publishing considers it a great honour to have him as part of their writers. Mick J. Clark wrote more than sixty songs, and one of his compositions, the album Causes, was nominated for a Grammy for the 64th edition. To top it off, he has racked up 1 million streams on Spotify and figured in the charts on both sides of the Atlantic with the single We Know It's True. In fact, he has always been a strong advocate of the traditional songwriting journey. His songs, which also include rock, country, and ballads, are a testament to his music being designed to touch the listener's heart more than to be a simple radio hit.

Pole Position - It's a comfortable, tuneful album that picks up emotions over the glitzy part of the music industry.

Pole Position demonstrates his ability to compose down-to-earth, easily approachable, easy listening music which communicates through genuineness rather than a trend, following production.

Honey You Are a Fool to Cry - One of the most poignant emotional declarations of Clark, the song is based on lyrics that offer reassurance, and the arrangement is so gentle that it is like a soothing talk. His singing is tender and his words full of understanding, thus the whole track beautifully fits the easy listening genre.

There Is Nothing Anybody Can Do -This song was already shared through the album Sonorus and is a great example of a contemplative and mature ballad. Clark accepts the situation and is emotionally realistic while production remains low, so the message can shine through. This track is for sure one of the most touching album moments.

Just Gimme Some Lovin' - Up until this track, the tempo has been quite low. Thanks to the lively rhythmic element, this tune is a very welcome change of pace on the album and reveals Clark's rock/pop side. The tune is still quite melodic and smooth, but the energy it gives to the album totally dispels the idea of it being so quiet for so long.

Why oh why -This song takes a more philosophical dive, it wonders how much love is really worth. It is a musical ballad at heart, and lyrical introspection keeps it interesting. Clark's honesty is the major factor that keeps the song alive.

The last few ballads, led songs are taking the album ahead with a very easy listening base. Where some have quite typical melodic formulas, they can be viewed as proof to Clarks dedication to the art of songwriting. Classic soft pop lovers will take pleasure in the emotional clarity and consistency.

The R&B track helps provide a little groove and neat phrase work. It is not pretty, carefully styled, but it is offering just enough of a flavour for the album's palette to be widened.

This Is Where My Heart Belongs -The final track really closes the loop of the whole trip. Silent, pensive, and truthful, it is the perfect emotional endpoint. Clark sounds most natural on this track; thus, it is a great demonstration of the album's message, that is, the power of heartfelt connection.

Pole Position is a good product of the easy listening genre featuring nice melodies and vocals, a warm atmosphere and a very experienced writer's craftsmanship. Mick J. Clark is not a trend follower in the musical world, but what has always made him stand out is his constant production of down-to-earth and very understandable music, and it’s a must-listen.
