Owen Weston has stepped out of the shadow of this band, Strange Company. Now he has delivered his thoughtful debut album, "Everything's Moving, Nothing's Changing."

Owen Weston is a Welsh singer and songwriter. He is the part of the band Strange Company. He has released his solo debut album on April 4th. The album titled, "Everything's Moving, Nothing's Changing" has nine songs in it. It deeply speaks of the chaos that one deals with during adulthood. The album beautifully captures that tension that one finds between desire to stay carefree and youthful, and the inevitable pull of responsibility.
The album starts with the song called “Daydreaming.” It is a brief and distressed recording. This song sets a tone of confusion and introspection to the album. This is quite a raw beginning to the album. But, it surely is a sharp contrast to the final song, “Happy Where I’ve Landed.” This last song gives a sense of clarity and acceptance to the listeners. This is a perfect ending to an album, as this change in emotion through the album, perfectly presents its narrative of a journey from confusion to self assurance.

If we compare Weston’s endeavors in Strange Company, this album is starkly different. The band uses the layered sounds in its albums. However, Weston has taken a completely minimalistic approach in this album. He recorded the entire album “Everything’s Moving, Nothing’s Changing” in his home studio, throughout the year 2024. This minimalistic approach has proved best, as it lets the lyrics and songwriting be the centre of attention in the album.
Also, apart from the first and last tracks, the album has another standout single. The second song “Little Death Cassette” is also a highlight of this album. This song was originally demoed in 2019 itself. But Weston could not find the perfect lyrics for it. So, it remained an instrumental track for five whole years, until late 2024. This song brings you the feeling that one feels while walking along the beach on a breezy day. This is a first full length song in this album.

The lyrics, written by Owen Weston himself, are really personal. But, they are also relatable to the listeners at the same time. They speaks about the themes like self-doubt, nostalgia and hope. These themes are visible throughout all the songs in it. These themes are sure to resonate the most with the listeners who are going through similar things in their lives.
“The lyrics paint the picture of the struggles that one faces while trying to find his place in this world."

This debut album, “Everything’s Moving, Nothing’s Changing” serves as a perfect testament to Owen Weston’s evolution as an artist through the years. He has embraced the theme of vulnerability. This, along with the very simple production, gives the feeling as if he is offering his sincere exploration of the complexities one faces in life during early adulthood. This debut surely invites listeners into a deeply personal journey of growth and self-discovery. So, if you are going through the journey of self-discovery, make sure to add this album to your playlist today!
