A soothing voice, lyrics that are piercing — Jennifer Allsbrook sings what the heart remembers.

Jennifer Allsbrook is a singer-songwriter from North Carolina. Her touching, storytelling music is characterized by her own warm and friendly voice, which is deeply rooted in her upbringing, which includes music, teaching, and her indomitable spirit. Her musical genre is a mix of her love of rock, folk, blues, and bluegrass. She pairs emotional honesty with a classical guitar style. Her art is a perfect combination of both — it is bright and beautiful, but at the same time, it is plain and human in nature, and she offers songs that are an extension of her and are very sincere and profoundly human.
“The Great Divide” is a wonderfully quiet first release, and it very clearly demonstrates Jennifer Allsbrook's talent to take something simple and make it emotionally powerful.

The track is essentially a chord progression, and the song opts for minimalism as its power. Jennifer's warm and textured vocal dominates the song with her gentle and convincing approach. Her lyrics have deeply reflective tenderness, yet can be easily understood by anyone. The production, under the guidance of Johnnie Blackwell and Dave Hudson, is very subtle and atmospheric. Essentially, what we have here is a deeply moving and quite beautiful reflection on the themes of connection and how the little things can bridge the distance between people. A lovely, understated, heartfelt introduction to Jennifer’s artistry.
