Eoin Shannon is a Cork-based artist who is a singer and songwriter, and has stepped boldly with his new album called “Highs & Lows.” The album is a beautiful blend of soul and blues with spiritual undertones. This feels timeless and deeply personal with each passing track. He has worked with renowned musician “Larry Magg,” who has created music for the song “I Could Fall In Love Again”. With his authentic and deep voice, he carries raw emotions with smooth phrasing, and the stories of faith, longing, and human resilience weave together.

Highs & Lows captures raw contrasts—darkness and light, grit and grace. Shannon focuses on honesty over polish, making the album feel alive.

With his authentic and deep voice, he carries raw emotions with smooth phrasing, and the stories of faith, longing, and human resilience weave together. The album starts with “Going Through Hell” with beat drops and lyrics “I met her in the summer, got lost in her gaze; all of a sudden, I’m trapped in her maze.” The lyrics are exceptional with slow music and have a character floating over beautiful arrangements of instruments.

Next comes “Fall Into Your Arms Again”, starting with amazing vocals with Gaby Duboisjoli singing parallel background parts with Eoin’s lead vocals. The transitioning of chords along with key changes is an art that could be heard in this track. Next comes "God Only Knows", starting with beat drops and a somber male voice with a background voiceover by Makeda Rose.

This track stands out because of the decent folk character that is added to the song with changing vocals, creating a beautiful texture with drums, bass, and guitar. The track is followed by “One Crazy Day”, starting with “You’re too good to be true; I can’t breathe without you.”

“Happiness Has Come to Town” opens with a nice piano feel with a string arrangement. The background vocals harmonize with Eoin's strong Celtic tenor. The song has a dark emotional feel to it. The song breaks down with piano and violin above the background vocals.

Next up is “I Could Fall in Love Again”, with the lyrics “I am taken by your innocence, your purity.” The song’s lyrics are a bit self-deprecating, with electric guitar high-gain riffs dispersed throughout the song. The background vocals combined with the piano and guitar add more feel to the music and make it personal since you can definitely resonate with it. The track is followed by “Pull the Plug/Pull the Curtain,” which starts with a very fresh guitar riff and feels like blooming, combined with Eoin’s vocals and a kick of parallel lyrics in the background; something or the other is going on in this track, with which your attention remains constant throughout.

It’s a nice heart of Celtic instrumentation mixed with modern sounds. Next up is “Sad Sad Little Man”, starting with the lyrics “I’m just a sad sad little man, trying to fight each day the best I can.”

The electric guitars provide a nice backdrop for the vocals and the weird chord changes. This track has a different arrangement, which will keep you captivated.

Lady opens the album with interweaving guitars, staccato blasts, and a burning solo. “The Closer You Are to God” combines Celtic singing with Eagles-esque guitar riffs, meshing light and dark. When I Look into Your Eyes breaks into bossa nova with gentle words and minimalist percussion. “Captain, My Captain” glows with rich imagery, bass-led simplicity, and a highlight solo. The Pull the Plug/Pull the Curtain remix is given an 80s disco twist with Zhoca's breathtaking vocals. Each song surprises with unanticipated yet natural chord changes. It’s best experienced late at night, in quiet moments of reflection.
