Composer-pianist Michael Goldberg is a prime example that you can start at any time and at any age!

Goldberg started his piano journey in 2022 at age 56 and, since then, has cultivated an individualistic style that combines neoclassical delicacy with the volume of modern progressive metal. His first solo album, Carnival of Lights, was the start of a more ambient, filmic direction, including collaborations from artists Misha Stefanuk and violinist Peter Voronov. However, his latest composition shows the loud and bold side of him, which is both heavy and intense, along with Annihilator’s Rich Grey and Fabio Alessandrini, who tend to push the music to the next level.
"Dorian’s Dance" blends gothic-prog power with neoclassical elegance, showcasing Michael Goldberg’s fearless artistry.

The single starts with slow piano and guitar in the background, which, with every riff, tends to hypnotize you through the sound. The shift of guitar is a gothic-prog powerhouse that feels both timeless and urgent in its own way. The piano motif from Goldberg adds depth to the track with guitars and double kick rhythms with violin from Voronov. The interplay between 4/4 and 7/8 gives timeless music, and it creates a cinematic grandeur.
