Analogue heart, future soul — Omnesia makes longing feel electrifying.

Omnesia is the Oakland-based sonic partnership of androgynous vocalist Medella Kingston and guitarist/producer M2, a duo known for blending genres into something strikingly their own. Their sound — “future vintage” — fuses nu wave, electro-pop, indie dance, and rock with cinematic warmth. With every new release, Omnesia becomes a unified universe where nostalgia, innovation, and storytelling are like three sides of the same triangle.
“Days and Nights” is a warmly comforting and time-bending anthem that speaks to anyone who has deeply missed someone.

It is a live recorded session in an Oakland warehouse that sounds quite empty and thus natural. The song gets to be very warm and alive, and is full of life, because of the fluidity of the interaction between the drums, bass, keys, and guitar, all of which were recorded without a click track. Medella Kingston’s multi-tracked voice is very evocative, thus making the track very tender and of indefinite time, which is the essence of eternity. Eric Slick’s inspired drum performance anchors the emotion, while Stephen Goodwin’s unusual bassline adds character and movement.
Tal Ariel’s strings and synths paint the edges with cinematic depth. The result is a beautifully organic yet futuristic soundscape — a love letter to longing, return, and the quiet magic living in between.
