“All The Same”: Finding light in the uncertain.

Charlie Uffelman is a New York-born writer of songs who is defining his position in the changing musical landscape of America. Having formed the indie rock band Armanodillo, his focus is on a mix of folk, rock, and alt-country. Often known for his narratives and emotionally charged performances. His songs are so beautiful and have a feeling of hope, loss, and self-discovery, which is the bridge between the old and the new ones.
"All The Same" can be compared to a deep breath out after quite a few months of waiting that was silent and tense.

It is one of those songs that can have a strong emotional impact on the listener by depicting a scene of silence after a very tumultuous and unsettling year of 2024 - graduation coming up, political unrest simmering under the surface - which happens to be the main theme of the lyrics. The track is played at a slow tempo in a folk-rock style, which is why it sounds very serene and soothing at the same time.
The lyrics are delivered with loud honesty in a quiet voice. The layers of sound are all acoustic. The reason why this tune hits the spot in people's hearts is its openness. Instead of drawing down into itself, it extends its hand to others with modesty and faith in the future. "All The Same" is still there when the last note fades away.
